Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the individuals and families affected by the El Paso and Dayton shootings this past weekend. This episode explores the El Paso Shooter’s manifesto, as well as its possible causes. Republicans are claiming mass shootings are a mental health issue, while Democrats are saying they are motivated by white supremacy and racism - perhaps the two are related. We also explore the Twitter reactions from prominent individuals to the event - analyzing public figures’ responses to these events demonstrate the complexity of this issue, as well as the echo chambers people appear to be living in.
